The Story:
Al and Willie as “Lewis and Clark” were top-billed vaudevillians for over forty years. Now they aren’t even speaking. When CBS requests them for a “History of Comedy” retrospective, a grudging reunion brings the two back together, along with a flood of memories, miseries and laughs. The story follow the attempt by a young theatrical agent to reunite his elderly uncle, a former vaudevillian great, with his long-time stage partner for a TV reunion. Despite their celebrated reputation, the two old men have not spoken in twelve years. Besides remastering their sketch, the two men have numerous issues to work out before they are ready to return to the public eye.

as Willie Clark
About Willie Clark:
Willie Clark is a retired vaudeville comedian who once formed half of a hugely successful comedy team. Now in his seventies, he lives alone in New York City and has been estranged from his former partner, Al Lewis, for over a decade. Willie is blunt, stubborn, and quick to take offense, often blaming everyone else for the team’s breakup. Beneath his rough manner is a deep fear of being forgotten and a longing for the success and connection he once had on stage.
About T. Sean Prescott:
Sean is an accountant living in Lincoln City with his wife, and two cats who tolerate his existence. He enjoys playing computer games, listening to music, reading, and watching movies. He also has a love for all things theater related. Singing, acting and directing are Sean’s passion. Sean has been involved with community theater since the early 90s. He is also on the Theatre West Board of Directors where he serves as Treasurer.

as Al Lewis
About Al Lewis:
Al Lewis is Willie Clark’s former comedy partner and the calmer half of their legendary vaudeville team. Now retired and living with his family, Al has built a quieter, more stable life, but he still carries the scars of their bitter breakup. He is patient, practical, and far more willing to compromise than Willie, yet he has his own pride and stubborn streak. Though he tries to move on, Al remains tied to his past with Willie, knowing that their greatest work (and deepest hurt) came from the same partnership.
About Patrick Kiernan:
Patrick is pleased to be making his 5th appearance on the Jack Coyne Stage here at Theatre
West. Previous productions include Camping With Henry and Tom, The Agatha Christie
Mysteries, Panache and Bakersfield Mist. He has also worked on five other productions in
various capacities including Stage Manager, Lighting Designer, Assistant Director and Director.
Patrick worked 35 years in the film and television industry before retirement, moving to Lincoln
City in 2020.Patrick spent 35 years working both in/and off production in the film and television industry in Los Angeles before retirement. He relocated to Lincoln City in 2020.
Gavin Suckow
as Ben
About Ben:
Ben Silverman is Willie Clark’s nephew and the practical center of the play. He works as a talent agent and sees the old partnership with clear eyes, not nostalgia. Ben is patient, diplomatic, and persistent, acting as the bridge between two men who can barely speak without fighting. His goal isn’t to relive the past, but to give them one last professional moment before it’s too late.
About Gavin Suckow:
There is no greater representation of the average and unremarkable than Gavin Suckow. Acting at Theatre West since 2022, Gavin has made a name for himself by being one of very few young men available to play the numerous parts that require young men to play them. He continues to burden his fellow cast mates with his painfully mediocre performances and his uncooperative behavior befitting a Broadway diva. Be wary of him, for if you spend too much time with him, you surely won’t remember the experience.
Tricia Chandler
as Edie
About Edie:
Edie Clark is Willie’s long-suffering sister-in-law and Ben’s mother. She acts as Willie’s main caretaker, helping manage his meals, appointments, and basic daily life. Practical, warm, and quietly firm, Edie sees through Willie’s bluster and understands both his faults and his fears. She serves as the emotional anchor of the play, the one person who still treats Willie with steady patience rather than anger or pity.
About Tricia Chandler:
Tricia Chandler has been involved with Theatre West productions since 2017. Her most recent appearance in It’s a Wonderful Life in December 2025. Previous productions include Epic Proportions, The Dinner Party, Meanwhile Back on the Couch, The Odd Couple, A Bad Year for Tomatoes and Savannah Sipping Society. Outside the theatre her life includes keeping up with her Boston Terrier Frankie and traveling Oregon in her van.
Teresa Mahaffy-Johnson
as Registered Nurse
About Registered Nurse:
The Registered Nurse is hired to care for Willie in his apartment and quickly becomes another casualty of his temperament. Competent and professional, she tries to do her job with patience, but Willie’s insults, resistance, and stubborn independence drive her away.
About Teresa Mahaffy-Johnson:
Teresa is new to the theatre as of last year, this is her second performance with Theatre West as well as participating in the B.O.A.T.S production at the Newport Performing Arts Center. She is truly appreciating the newfound creative outlet. Teresa enjoys beach time with her dog, Penny; the wonderful variety of trivia and live music in the area; and making friends along the Oregon coast.
Taylor Parker
as Vaudville Nurse One
About Vaudville Nurse One:
Vaudeville Nurse One appears in the reunion television sketch as a brisk, no-nonsense caregiver caught between two quarrelsome patients. She delivers her lines with calm efficiency while Willie and Al turn every moment into an argument.
About Taylor Parker:
Taylor is excited to be making her premier performance at Theatre West. Her youthful experience comes from the Redding Christian School theater playing Arrieta in Little Mermaid, Mrs. Roosevelt in Annie, Mrs. Squires in Music Man, and at the Lincoln City Playhouse Meg in Little Women, Penelope in
Odyssey, and the Red Queen in Alice in Wonderland.Taylor is a teacher’s aide at Samaritan Early Learning Center. She has been a dancer for 12 years.
Anna Gabler
as Vaudeville Nurse Two
About Vaudeville Nurse Two:
Vaudeville Nurse Two is friendly and well-meaning, trying to keep the situation under control while the two old comics derail the routine. Her cheerful attitude and simple professionalism only make Willie and Al’s bickering more obvious, turning an ordinary hospital visit into a comic mess.
About Anna Gabler:
Anna Gabler has lived in Lincoln City for her entire life. In middle school she began choir and joined the drama department where she found her love of musical theater. She has been in The cast of Wizard Of Oz, Willie Wonka, Shrek and A Night On Broadway. Anna’s first Theatre West performance was Harold and Maude and since then she has performed in Arsenic and Old Lace and Moon Over Buffalo. Her passion for the theater continues to grow and she looks forward to more opportunities to be on stage.
Cody Blake
as Patient
About Patient:
The Patient is mild, confused, and easily overwhelmed by Willie and Al’s nonstop aruing. His quiet presence provides a human counterpoint to the chaos and Willie and Al bring to the scene.
About Cody Blake:
Cody is new to theater life and this is his debut and first foray on the Jack Coyne Stage. He moved to Oregon from Shasta County, California when he was five years old, and is now a long-time resident of Otis where he lives with his wife, two children, and two dogs.
Theatre West welcomes him, is thrilled to have him join our troop of actors and looks forward to seeing him in many more productions.
Keith Hutchinson
as Director (Voice Only)
About Director (Voice Only):
The Director is the offstage presence heard during the television sketch. Calm at first and later clearly frustrated, the director tries to keep the production moving as the scene begins to unravel.
About Keith Hutchinson:
Keith found Theatre West soon after moving to Lincoln City just last February. He was thrilled to be in, and have the part of Lt.Rooney, in Arsenic and Old Lace, a play he was in waaayy back in High School.
In The Sunshine Boys, he is the voice of the TV Director, the job he had in “real life”, working for CBS Television in Atlanta.
Chandler Trotter
as Understudy
About Understudy:
Chandler Trotter joins us as an understudy, so we can’t promise if or when you’ll see him on stage in The Sunshine Boys by Neil Simon. Although a “wild card,” he is as committed as the rest of the cast! Sean was overheard telling him, “You do know you have to remember everyone’s lines, right?” We hope he was kidding! Guess we’ll find out starting Jan. 29th!
About Chandler Trotter:
I recently moved up to Lincoln City this past September and I am excited to take part in my first Theater West production. I use to do theater back in highschool and while I stepped away from the stage for a bit, my passion for it never ceased. I look forward to seeing what comes next and hopefully get a chance to help not only this show but future shows succeed as well.

About K. Athena Suckow:
The Sunshine Boys is Athena’s directorial debut after taking on the role of Assistant Director for last season’s Arsenic and Old Lace. Athena became involved with Theatre West as a volunteer when her son, Gavin accepted his first acting role; she became immediately enchanted by the community and family of life in the theatre! She now also happily serves as co-box office coordinator and vice-president of the board of directors.

About Dave Jones:
Dave has been involved in many plays in the last 25 plus years at Theatre West and at the Oakley Valley Arts Council in Idaho. He has played such varied characters as the Grinch; Mr. Murgatroyd the seal; and Oscar Shapiro in Curtains. When Athena asked him to be her Assistant Director for “Sunshine,” he was happy to help out. He thanks his play widow wife for being a supporter of his theatrics addiction. He is a semi-retired CPA whose tax preparation income supports his ocean fishing addiction. He hopes you enjoy the show. Fish on!
